Alvaro Palacios Gratallops Priorat

Size

Alvaro Palacios, the renowned Spanish wine maker, from Rioja, studied his wine making trade in Bordeaux at the infamous Chateau Petrus. When he returned to Spain it was to Priorat and the village of Gratallops. This elegant and complex wine, of 80% Garnacha, 19% Carinena and 1% white grapes is a testament of what to expect from this lesser known region.

Aged in large oak barells for 15 months, there is rounded tannins, medium to full body and balanced red and dark fruits on the palate. The white grapes add some floral notes on the nose and fresh acidity keeps this wine fresh and perfect for ageing or drinknign young.
