This beautiful red comes from Michelle Chiarlo, the renowned family run winery in the Piedmont region of Italy. More specifically the town of Asti and it's surrounding hillsides, boasts the perfect climate for growing the Barbera grape. Unlike in the neighbouring region of Alba, where Nebbiolo holds the greatest spaces, in Asti, Barbera is planted on the best sites.
A wonderful expression of juicy red fruits, redcurrants, red cherries, raspberries. Balanced with some hints of vanilla and cacao. Medium bodied and fresh acidity makes this a brilliantly diverse option for pairing with food. Of course, classic Italian pasta dishes hit the sweet spot.
