Lalande-de-Pomerol, situated 5 minutes north of its more famous big brother, Pomerol. Here prices are lower without a drop in quality. Similar to all right bank Bordeaux, mostly Merlot is planted. In this wine the blend is Merlot 80%, Cabernet Franc 20%. 50% of the wine is fermented in stainless steel, 50% in oak, and then aged entirely for 12 months in French oak.
The result, a medium bodied, well rounded wine.Lots of dark ripe fruits like cherry, blackberry and plum, light toasty notes and sweet spices like liquorice and vanilla.A long, dry finish and structured yet soft tannins.
