Discover a beautifully expressive organic red from northern Puglia, made from 100% Nero di Troia. Rich dark fruit, lifted spice and elegant tannins make this a wonderful match for comforting Italian food.
Vivid ruby red with violet reflections. Aromas of dark plum, blackberry, black cherry, cinnamon, pepper and subtle tobacco lead into a generously flavoured palate. Fresh acidity supports firm yet gentle tannins, with layered fruit, spice and a long finish.
Nero di Troia is a historic native red grape of northern Puglia in southern Italy. The fruit is grown in the province of Foggia, where warm days encourage ripeness while careful farming preserves fruit character and structure.
Grapes are hand-picked from low-yielding certified-organic vineyards with vines around 20–30 years old. After destemming, largely intact berries ferment at approximately 23–25°C for about ten days, using careful pump-overs and rack-and-returns to extract flavour and gentle tannins. Following malolactic fermentation, about 30% of the wine matures in American oak barriques for six months.
Serve at 16–18°C. Superb with baked or roast lamb, hearty tomato-based pasta, roast beef, mushroom risotto and medium-aged cheeses.
