Shilda Winery is one of Georgias leading wineries. Based in the Kakheti region, it grows the main native varieties of Georgia, including its flagship red, Saperavi. An interesting wine, named the "Dark Harvest". All grapes are hand harvested at night under a whole moon, exclusively by women. They are then pressed before sundrise to refrain their freshness.
Concentrated with blackcurrant, ripe blackberry and cherry, supported by hints of cocoa, spice and vanilla. Stalky tannins make it ideal for ageing. It is a classic expression of the wonderful dark fruit notes of Saperavi, interwoven with french oak highlights, all the while, fresh and bright. Perfectly balancing the bold and the elegant.
