Luis Seabra, Xisto Cru Branco

Quantity

One of the Portugals most exciting wine makers. Making wines from native grapes of the Douro region, primarily Rabigato.

It sits in Burgundy barrels for 1 year, then a further 9 months in stainless steel. Luscious and creamy texture, balanced with bright acidity. Citrus and yellow fruit are persistent on the nose, palate and long finish with some drawn out minerality. The oak ageing adds depths with vanilla, toast and hints of beeswax.

Plenty of ageing potential or can be enjoyed now. Elegant and rich. Expect to pay a far higher price to get a wine of this quality from Burgundy itself.
