Mooiplaas The Coco Chocolate Merlot is an inky purple in colour. On the big nose showing aromas of cherry fruit, mocha and dark chocolate. The palate is silky smooth with massive mouth-filling flavours of oak, coffee, chocolate. The long and persistent finish with vanilla and gentle spice notes and well integrated silky tannins. A surprisingly complex, mature and elegant wine is not a heavyweight but impresses with its dark berry fruit and its cocoa flavour. It deserves its name 'The Coco'.
Notice: No cocoa beans were used during the wine making process! The idea was to create a wine with seductive dark fruit, cocoa and chocolate flavours and well integrated oak on the palate. To achieve this heavily toasted French oak were used.
