'Fugu is back, and this time we’ve cut it with Riwaka hops.'
For those unfamiliar, Fugu is a refreshing, ultra-light-bodied beer made with the finest lager malts and rice flakes. Basqueland have updated the recipe by adding Riwaka hops in the whirlpool. It’s the first time using this hop at Basqueland, and wanted to feature it in a lager-style beer.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose, Fugu releases pleasant earthy aromas accompanied by citrusy notes: yuzu, pink grapefruit, and kumquat. On the palate is a subtle tropical layer is perceived dry, with a slightly bitter finish. Fugu requires a master touch.
