Overall, this is an outstanding single malt. The quality of the whiskey does hold up the hype and marketing behind this series.
Method and Madness is a new line of premium Irish whiskeys from the world renowned Midleton Distillery. The concept behind this series of whiskeys is experimentation between masters and apprentices of the Midleton Distillery. This Single Malt is initially matured in ex – bourbon oak casks. And then in a first for Irish Whiskey it is finished in French Limousin Oak casks which imparts a truly unique flavour profile.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Quite delicate initially, best to let this whiskey breath for about 10 minutes to open up. Once this whiskey gets some air, floral and spice notes open up. Subtle grass and cereal notes.

Palate: Quite a sweet palate. Vanilla and honey comb ice cream. Nice marrying of spice notes.

Finish: One of the most interesting finishes I’ve experienced. Really crisp and sharp. Almost minty with some nice floral notes coming back.
