This is the first official release of a single grain whiskey from Irish Distillers. Method and Madness reinforces Irish Distillers’ “continued commitment” to experimentation and innovation at the Midleton Distillery. Single Grain Irish Whiskey Finished in Virgin Spanish Oak has been matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and finished for 12 months in toasted, virgin Spanish oak from Galicia. The process adds “complexity, cask character and a spicy note” to the liquid.

Nose
The nose is fresh with aromas of a freshly cut meadow, ripe pear and a light caramel. As it develops you notice faint tones of banana, star anise and pine.
Palate
The palate is as the nose suggests, elegant. The aromas from the nose flow gently onto the palate with the addition of toast, fermented lemons, peanuts and barley. There is a beautiful minerality to this whiskey which adds to the delicate length of the whiskey.
Barrel used
This single grain Irish whiskey is finished in toasted Virgin Spanish Oak from Galicia for twelve months.
