Not one to over look. While Tyconnel can be a light drinking experience for the seasoned whiskey drinker, this port cask finished expression has decent depth and character. The port cask finish imparts rich and sweet fruit notes on the palate and there is some herbal and malt notes on the nose. Not one to be written off.
Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Port Finish Single Malt Irish Whiskey is aged in American oak before being fnished in Port casks. On the nose aromas of tropical fruits, mixed conserves with notes of roots and herbs. The palate is jammy and thick with great balance and market sweetness from barley sugar and malt. Long finish with sweet notes of marmolade and oak.
