This is a really good introduction to the wines of Suertes del Marqués. It is described as their ‘village wine’ and is an expression of their wine-producing philosophy. A blend of 35 different plots, across altitudes ranging from 350m-750m above sea-level, from both estate and old vine fruit and fruit bought from local growers. Soils differ, but are based on volcanic bedrock. The grapes used are Listán Negro and Tintilla (aka Jura’s Trousseau). Juicy, fruit-driven cherry and forest fruit character. Some slight reductiveness and earthiness. Soft tannins and crisp acidity make this perfect to serve on the cooler side (approx. 12-13C) and with a variety of food. Perfect for a mid-week supper.
