Very phenolic nose. Deep, intense peat smoke. Rich fruit notes. Cherries and apricots. Amazing complexity. The sweet fruit and the contrasting peat smoke play off each other perfectly. Also some mineral notes. Much tamer than a peated Islay scotch, but no less interesting.
Oily and rich. Peat smoke is still there but intensity dies down and the sweet fruit notes are given room to open up. Vanilla and cream notes are there. Almost rich dessert in taste.
Medium finish. Peat and tobacco smoke but these don’t coat the palate like a peated Islay scotch. Soft fruit and spices.
